The experience

On the road to discover the region with Cammina, Molise!

Lhe event Walk, Molise! since 2013, in the‘part of the roots tourism program that promotes communities of Molisians at the‘abroad, is being held and replicated in Argentina.

The event in 2024 is now in its 30th edition in Molise and 7th in Argentina, includes a particularly rich program and promotion of ties with our co-regionals at the‘abroad.

Specifically for August 4, the second day of the Walk, Molise! 2024, the program was as follows:

Morning:

• Departure from Salcito, with a guided tour of the historic center;
• Walk along the Celano-Foggia sheep-track with a traveling lecture on transhumance civilization;
• Reaching and visiting the Morgia dei Briganti;
• Continuation to Pietracupa with a visit to the historic center, the Morge and the Crypt of San Antonio Abate.
• Lunch with local products prepared by the communities of the countries crossed.

Afternoon:

• Resumed on the way to Torella Del Sannio, traveling chair on border fruit plantings of sheep-tracks and farmland
• reached Torella del Sannio, tour of the historic center and Dodda parade organized by the Torella del Sannio pro loco.

Evening: festivities in the square with folk songs and dances accompanied by traditional local dishes.

For the day, we took care to accompany the root travelers on a unique and dedicated experiential journey, with guides whose task was to bring to life the‘roots experience to the depths of their value.

As every year, among the participants on the walk were several root travelers from South America, North America, and the‘Europe. For the future, we would be happy to host any other root travelers who would like to join us in discovering our traditions that unite us.
