The experience
Wheat as a symbol of union and devotion
A Jelsi, since 1805, the Feast of the Grain in honor of St. Anne. Braids, decorations and magnificent floats, all made entirely from wheat.
A few years ago the MuFeG, Community Museum of the Wheat Festival, was born with the intention of bringing this unique tradition to life all year round and letting people try their hand at wheat processing.
The wheat workshop aims to rediscover the decorations of wheat by making unique works using traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation.
Participating in this activity will let you experience the beauty of Molise tradition. You will discover the culture hidden behind wheat decorations, expertly created by the skilled hands of local artisans. Participating in our grain decorating workshop is an unmissable opportunity to connect with the roots of our land and create memories that will last.
The workshop consists of a visit to the “MuFeG” Community Museum of the Grain Festival and then moves on to a hands-on demonstration of how to process and weave wheat and its related items for the preparation of typical local objects in which participants can also put their hands to work.
