A chance for emigrants to return to Roccasicura
The OrigineVive event is a unique opportunity for Roccolani emigrants to return to their homeland and reconnect with their roots during the second week of September, in conjunction with the celebrations in honor of Our Lady of Vallisbona.
The idea behind this event is to celebrate and enhance the history and culture of the Roccasicura community by providing anengaging and meaningfulexperience for all participants. The event program is designed specifically for root travelers, those who return to Roccasicura to rediscover their roots and share experiences with the community.
One of the event’s main activities is theinauguration of the Year of Roots, a symbolic moment when local authorities and members of the Roccolan oriunda community will cut the ribbon to kick off the celebrations. This moment marks the start of a series of events and initiatives designed to enhance the cultural and historical roots of the Roccola community.
During the three days, participants will have the opportunity to explore their own family history at the public archives, with the support of experienced officials and genealogists. Customized research sessions will be available to book to discover their roots and ties to the community.
In cooperation with local businesses, various activities and experiences related to the traditions and culture of the area will be offered. From guided tours of the historical and cultural sites of the village, to root workshops focused on the “Nature” asset, to gastronomic tastings and folk performances.
An important part of the festival will be dedicated to visiting and rediscovering the country. The culmination of the event will be the creation of an emotional audiovisual content, in the form of a video, that will capture the essence and energy of the entire celebration. This video will serve not only as a testament to the event, but also as a promotional tool to attract a wider audience in the years to come.
